This book is a collection of poems and stories written by people who have experienced hunger firsthand. Through their voices, you’ll find not only struggle, but strength. Not just hardship—but hope. Their words are a testament to the power of community. No one should go hungry. Together, we can make a difference.

Hunger touches every community in America. Every day, individuals and families must make impossible choices—between putting food on the table and paying for other necessities. Yet hunger is a solvable problem. In the U.S., there is more than enough food for everyone.

The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank is at the heart of the local fight against hunger. It is the source of food for more than 600 food programs across eight counties, and directly serves people through its pantries, mobile, pop-up pantry and home delivery program. Each year, it helps provide millions of meals to neighbors experiencing hunger.
